Congratulations to Brian Saccomanno and Chris Nickell!
Uncle’s Games 1st Eastern Washington Regional Qualifier started off strong. We had 16 players show up to play and compete for a seat at GenCon Indy 2010. The decks were shuffled and the boards set up to find a shortage in ore for the first round, and the second. Players were scrambling to find the precious ore needed to upgrade their Settlements to the coveted City status. Spirits were high throughout the day as players attempted to satisfy their cravings for Settlers (is that even possible?). Of the 16 players only two had what it took to progress onward to the Easter Washington Championship game. Brian Saccomanno and Chris Nickell took first and second with 2 wins, 37 & 36 points respectively. If you missed out on the fun there are still 4 more opportunities for you to secure yourself a spot at Washington State Championship Qualifier.

This impressive achievement is recorded as a world record! The winners of the lottery afterwards all received a game and the special compliments of the author of the game Klaus Teuber.
Our GenCon Indy Video Report is here! Pictures and video by Mayfair Games, music by Oakland’s Bossasaurus.
We had an outstanding GenCon 2009. Our booth was busier and more juiced with player energy than ever been before. We approximate that some 7,000 people played or demo’d games with us and the demo area was packed, standing room only, from 10:30 A.M. Thursday till Sunday afternoon. We thank all those gamers who came out to GenCon and stopped by to visit us. We greatly appreciate the time you spent at our booth and we sincerely hope you played some games that were new to you and enjoyed the experience.
There were a lot of exciting things at GenCon this year. As the sponsor of the training grounds we were ecstatic to see the zone bustling with sprouting gamers. Our game Mayfair Game Shepherds were keeping people gaming in the 500 ballroom.
We were happy to support the Cheese Weasel Scavenger hunt events – both the standard program and the elite test. Gamer Cruises gave a cruise berth as the grand prize in the elite program. Mayfair provided a cruise berth as the grand prize for prize to a lucky gamer in the Cheese Weasel basic Scavenger Hunt. As our stop, folks had to participate in a demo in the booth or play in an event to acquire a ribbon.
Mayfair continued the “Great Ribbon Quest”, expanding the program with a new ribbon sequence emphasizing four older titles. The program was a resounding success and the Catan table was overloaded, as we increased the amount of knights and defenders on the island of Catan by five fold.
The NACC wrapped up with Edgar Zurawell, from Alberta, Canada, claiming victory and the responsibility of representing North America in the World Wide Catan Championship 2010 at Wildenstein Castle in Germany. The rest of the final four included, Ian Wingrove, who won the Catan Masters Tournament; Paul Dueck from Winnipeg, Canada; and Charles Green from Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Look for more from our trip to GenCon and a Video Report coming soon.
